Interview with Lubaina Himid by Dr Maroua Mannai

IBAR is very pleased to publish in full a 2019 interview with Turner-prize-winning visual artist Lubaina Himid. Conducted during her exhibition at the CAPC Contemporary Art Museum Bordeaux by Dr Maroua Mannai, the interview discusses key artworks (and their makings) ranging from the 1980s to the 2010s, such as the cut-out installations A Fashionable Marriage (1986) and Naming the Money (2004) and the Rodeur series (2016-2018). Dr Mannai received her PhD from Paul Valéry University Montpellier 3 in 2023 under the direction of Professor Judith Misrahi-Barak with Professor Alan Rice from IBAR as the external examiner
