Prof. Lisa Merrill (Hofstra) on her time as an IBAR Fellow
In April and May 2016, Prof. Lisa Merrill from Hofstra University in New York joined IBAR as its second IBAR Fellow after New York film-maker Sikay Tang.
Prof. Merrill delivered a keynote lecture at IBAR’s Art, Politics and Performance in the Black Atlantic 1789-2016 (14-15/3/2016), exchanged ideas with IBAR staff and other academics in the UK and extended further her research into race, performance and theatre.
As she emphasises, IBAR provided a “home” from home and she greatly valued “the supportive and exciting international climate IBAR has created and fostered.”
